An Indian restaurant in Penge has been crowned the winner of an award after a ceremony celebrating the country’s finest curries.
Penge Masala, on the High Street, picked up the Best Indian Restaurant in south London at this year’s Euro Asia Curry Awards.
The annual event - hosted in Romford on November 15 - recognised the top curry houses in the UK and the hardworking, talented people behind them.
Penge Masala offers exquisite Indian food prepared by their celebrity chef with over 20 years of experience in the industry.
Here, customers will be able to experience a true and authentic taste of Indo-Bangladeshi food, inspired by its rich and diverse culinary regions.
Each dish is created using the finest ingredients, all in their own aromatic sauces with perfectly blended herbs and spices for an explosion of flavour.
Almost 500 businesses and individuals from across the UK were nominated for the prestigious awards this year, which also include categories such as Best Takeaway and Best Chef.
Around 50 regional and national winners were chosen and received their awards at the ceremony at Mayfair Venue.
The Euro Asia Awards, now in their seventh year, were founded by Bangladeshi chef, Shorif Kahn.
He said: “The UK is home to some fantastic curry restaurants and takeaways and the awards are a way to give something back to the brilliant people behind them.
“2023 has been a great year for the country’s curry industry, with business generally back to pre-pandemic levels after a few very tough years.”
