I had an indulgent, lavish brunch with bottomless food and drinks in a stunning Park Lane hotel, right opposite Hyde Park.
The Intercontinental London Park Lane offers the bottomless brunch of dreams, where diners can have access to a sweet and savoury buffet, eggs however they like and on top of that a warm and comforting roast dinner.
The moment I set foot in the hotel I knew I was in for a treat – the hotel’s high ceilings and extravagant Christmas decorations simply scream luxury.
I entered the hotel restaurant and was immediately blown away when I laid my eyes on the buffet to see rows and rows of colourful salads, a variety of cheeses, meats and different types of fish.
When we sat down, we were asked whether we would prefer a Bloody Mary or prosecco – I opted for the latter.
Staff were very attentive and helpful, continually checking in and refilling my glass without my even having to ask.
It was difficult to choose what to select from the buffet so I chose to try the Greek salad and some hummus and I have to say it was some of the creamiest, smoothest hummus I’ve ever had.
I then decided to move onto an egg dish, I chose to go for an omelette with cheese, ham and peppers.
The chef prepared it for me at an omelette station in the restaurant and then brought it to my table, piping hot.
The restaurant also offers eggs benedict and eggs Florentine, but my boyfriend asked whether they could prepare eggs royale, despite it not being on the menu, and they happily obliged which was a wonderful touch to our brunch.
They even asked him whether he would like his eggs soft, medium or hard poached, just showing the levels of detail and care staff took at Intercontinental.
Finally, we moved onto the main event – the roast dinner.
There was a vegetarian option and a fish of the day option, however, I chose the Kentish roast chicken and my boyfriend was very excited to enjoy the beef wellington.
The roast dinner was also buffet style, giving diners the choice to put as much or as little on their plate as they wish.
As well as meat, there were roast potatoes, roasted carrots and roasted parsnips as well as a variety of condiments and sauces.
The roast dinner was divine, my chicken was moist and tender and my boyfriend could not stop talking about how perfectly cooked and delicious the beef wellington was.
The roast potatoes were crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside, as a perfect roast potato should be.
Despite being full-to-bursting, we had to sample at least a few of the beautiful desserts.
The choice was endless, with cheesecake, cookies, muffins, mousses and cakes.
Our standout dish that we tried was a nutty, chocolate swiss roll that I can only describe as how a Ferrero Rocher cake would taste.
Another favourite was the raspberry croissant which was a sweeter version of the classic pastry with striking, pink stripes.
The amount on offer at this brunch was mind-blowing and staff did their absolute best to make sure guests were satisfied.
If you are looking for a glamorous bottomless brunch with endless food as well as all the bubbly you can drink, then this is one hundred percent the spot for you.
