Planned engineering work will take place on certain Southeastern Railway lines this weekend, causing some delays and diversions.
The work will be taking place on both Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19 closing some lines and causing some trains to be replaced by buses.
We have compiled all of the information about this work so that you can properly plan your travel this weekend.
Saturday (November 18)
Buses replace trains between Gravesend and Rochester
Southeastern:
Strood station will only be served by trains between Paddock Wood and Strood.
Trains between London St Pancras International and Ramsgate via Gravesend will only run between London St Pancras International and Gravesend.
Accessible replacement buses will run between:
- Gravesend and Rochester calling at Strood only
- Gravesend and Strood calling at Higham (minibus)
Thameslink:
Train services will only run between Luton and Gravesend.
Ticket acceptance:
You can use the following services at no additional cost:
- Southeastern rail replacement buses between Gravesend and Strood and trains / rail replacement buses between Strood and Rainham.
Sunday (November 19)
Buses replace trains between Lewisham and Hayes
Routes affected:
Between London Charing Cross and Hayes
Engineering work is taking place Lewisham and Hayes, closing all lines.
Trains between London Charing Cross and Hayes will not run.
Accessible replacement buses will run between Lewisham and Hayes calling at all stations.

Buses replace trains between Robertsbridge and Hastings
Engineering work is taking place between Robertsbridge and Hastings, closing all lines.
Trains will only be able to run between London Charing Cross and Robertsbridge. These trains will be diverted via Bat & Ball calling at: London Waterloo East, London Bridge, Sevenoaks, Hildenborough then all stations to Robertsbridge where the train will terminate.
Accessible replacement buses will run between:
- Robertsbridge and Hastings calling at all stations except Crowhurst
- Robertsbridge and Hastings calling at Battle and St Leonards Warrior Square only
- Battle and Crowhurst minibus shuttle
Buses replace trains on routes via Gravesend and Strood
Southeastern:
High Speed via Gravesend: Trains between London St Pancras International and Ramsgate via Faversham will only run between London St Pancras International and Ebbsfleet.
Sidcup Line: Trains between London Charing Cross and Gravesend will not run. Services between London Charing Cross and Dartford will call additionally at Albany Park.
Medway Valley Line: Trains between Paddock Wood and Strood will only run between Paddock Wood and Maidstone West.
Accessible replacement buses will run between:
- Ebbsfleet and Strood calling at Gravesend only
- Dartford and Gravesend calling at all stations
- Dartford and Gillingham calling at all stations except Higham
- Gravesend and Maidstone West calling at all stations
Thameslink:
Train services will run between Kentish Town / London Bridge and Dartford.
Ticket acceptance:
You can use the following services at no additional cost:
- Southeastern rail replacement buses between Dartford and Rochester and trains between Rochester and Rainham
Buses replace trains on routes via Orpington
Southeastern:
There will be no trains via Orpington all day.
Paddock Wood Line: Trains between London Charing Cross and Ramsgate / Dover Priory via Tonbridge will be retimed and run via an alternative route between London Bridge and Sevenoaks.
Hastings Line: Trains between London Charing Cross and Robertsbridge will be diverted via an alternative route and will not be able to stop at Orpington. As a result of further engineering work, trains will only run between London Charing Cross and Robertsbridge.
Bromley South Line: Trains between London Victoria and Orpington will only run between London Victoria and Bromley South.
Grove Park Line: Trains between London Charing Cross and Sevenoaks will only run between London Charing Cross and Chislehurst.
Accessible replacement buses will run between:
- Chislehurst and Sevenoaks via Bickley calling at all stations
If you are travelling between Bromley South and Orpington, you will need to use Thameslink services between Bromley South and Bickley, to connect with the buses running between Chislehurst and Sevenoaks.
Ticket acceptance:
You can use Thameslink services between Bromley South and Bickley at no extra cost.
Thameslink:
The 06:46 and 07:16 Orpington to London Victoria services will start from Bellingham.
Rail replacement buses will run between Orpington and Bellingham.
