Lanes 1, 2 and 3 of the M25 between Junction 5 and Junction 6 will be closed overnight for emergency resurfacing works following a vehicle fire.
Today (November 16), a vehicle fire between junctions J5 and J6 on the M25 lead to blocked traffic leading to long queues with delays of up to 90 minutes.
Kent Fire and Rescue Services attended the scene In a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, National Highways confirmed that lanes 1 and 2 of the M25 clockwise between J5 and J6 will remain closed following the earlier fire.
The statement also confirmed that lanes 1, 2 and 3 would be closed overnight as emergency resurfacing works take place today.
Currently delays of around 30 minutes are expected.
The full statement from National Highways South-East said: “Lanes 1 and 2 remain closed on the #M25 clockwise between J5 (#M26) and J6 (#Godstone) following a vehicle fire.
“Resurfacing is going to be taking place throughout the rest of the day into rush hour, with lanes 1, 2 and 3 closure overnight. Delays are at least 30 minutes.”
