Plans have moved onto the next stage with building a second ballroom at the Intercontinental Hotel.
Arora Management Services Ltd has submitted plans to Greenwich Council for the construction of a second ballroom at the Intercontinental hotel west of the O2 Arena.
The council granted permission for the initial plans last month, and the latest documents outline a travel plan for the surrounding area.
The new ballroom project involves the conversion of an indoor car park within the 453-bed hotel, which comprises 231 parking spaces and is situated beneath the existing ballroom.
This new ballroom will be slightly smaller than the original one and will have a capacity for 1,140 diners.
The design of the new feature aims to make minimal changes to the exterior of the existing ballroom building on the site.
Additionally, this expansion is expected to create 28 new job opportunities.
The Intercontinental hotel, which opened in 2015, offers guests the convenience of a dedicated link to the adjacent O2 Arena.
The decision for the conversion was approved on Thursday, September 7.
