A police incident shut part of Walworth Road this morning after a mental health incident.
Officers attended Walworth Road in Southwark this morning at around 8am following a person in a “mental health crisis”.
The road was closed in both directions between Carter Place and Cadiz Street.
At the time of the incident, bus routes12,35,40,45,68,148,171,176 and 468 were on diversion.
Police say the man involved was “safely detained”.
The roads have since reopened.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “This should have all reopened now; it was officers dealing with someone in a mental health crisis.
“He was safely detained.”
