Bromley Council has recently received proposals for enhancing the amenities at Ruxley Manor garden centre in Sidcup.
The proposals include the addition of leisure features, such as an 18-hole adventure golf course complete with oversized plant and animal elements, as well as an exhilarating high ropes course tailored for children.
The estimated budget for this ambitious project stands at £1.5 million.
From Bromley Councils’ website, the current stages of the plans are in the neighbour consultation stage, which officially ends on November 3.
The adventure golf course will aim to offer a unique experience, promising hours of family fun amid larger-than-life plant and animal-themed attractions.
The plans also include building an adult-oriented high ropes course featuring a zipline, adding a touch of adventure for the grown-ups.
Pleydell Smithyman Limited, acting on behalf of Ruxley Manor, submitted the planning documents for this substantial undertaking.
The documents highlight the significance of Ruxley Manor as one of the largest independently owned garden centres in the southeastern region of the country.
Located on Maidstone Road in Sidcup, this business, established in 1964, already boasts a restaurant and two children's day nurseries, further enriching the experiences it offers to visitors.
Planning documents said: “Complementary leisure facilities are becoming commonplace at garden centre sites as operators recognise the synergy between the two uses and they also help to attract the ever growing young family market, to offset changes to the demographic profile of the typical older garden centre customer.
"They also help to combat the effects of online shopping, giving customers a reason to visit the site to gain an experience rather than shopping online.”
