A woman is fighting for her life after being hit by a suspect vehicle during a police car chase in Lewisham.
Police were pursuing a vehicle after it allegedly failed to stop when the driver hit the pedestrian in Baring Road SE12 at around 4pm yesterday (October 17).
Officers called for paramedics and London Air Ambulance also attended the scene.
The woman in her 30s was taken to hospital where she currently remains in a life-threatening condition.
Her family have been informed.
The driver has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, grievous bodily harm and criminal damage.
He was also taken to hospital for minor injuries and now remains in custody.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “At around 4pm on Tuesday, 17 October, a car being pursued after failing to stop for officers collided with a pedestrian in Baring Road, SE12.
“Officers requested support from the London Ambulance Service. London's Air Ambulance also attended.
“The pedestrian, a woman in her 30s, was taken to hospital where she remains in a life-threatening condition. Her next of kin have been informed.
“The driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, grievous bodily harm and criminal damage.
“He was taken to hospital with minor injuries and later taken into custody where he remains.”
