An Eltham pub based in a post office has reopened its doors after a £750,000 revamp.

Eltham GPO in Passey Place closed back in August so that the décor could be updated, a conservatory could be opened and other new features could be brought in.

The pub was originally set to reopen in September, but some building delays pushed the date back to Monday, October 9.

They will also hold a grand launch party on October 19 to celebrate the pub’s makeover.

A spokesperson for Eltham GPO said: “The pub closed in August so it has been quite a long refurb process.

“We did initially publish that it was going to be opening in September and we started scheduling in some dry runs which filled up so fast, which unfortunately we then had to reschedule but we had people walking into the pub and expecting it to be open.

“Lots of people are eagerly waiting.”

One of the new additions at Eltham GPO following the refurb is the pub’s new function room which has been named the library.

It can fit around 20 people and can be booked out for parties, buffets and other events.

The library can also be used for pub desking during the week as a quiet space for remote workers.

The pub desking deal Eltham GPO offers is £15 which includes unlimited tea, coffee and soft drinks all day and customers can order a lunch special included in the price as well.

Another favourite feature of Eltham GPO is its Sunday roasts which will be back with a bang now the spot has reopened.

They also offer customers to enjoy a camembert sharer and a bottle of house wine for £25 since the reopening.
