A man has been taken to hospital after a crash between a car and a lorry on the M20.

It happened on the eastbound carriage between junctions four and five at 12.45pm today (August 24).

Officers, South East Coast Ambulance Service, and Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended and found a man with serious injuries.

He was taken to hospital for further treatment where his condition is currently unknown.

A woman was also taken to hospital as a precaution.

Both carriageways were closed as the incident was dealt with and are now both partially open.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Kent Police was called at 12.45pm on Thursday 24 August to a collision involving a lorry and a car on the eastbound carriage of the M20, between junctions 4 and 5.

“Officers, South East Coast Ambulance Service, Highways officers, and Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene where a man was treated for a serious injury and taken to hospital for further medical attention.

“A woman was also conveyed to hospital as a precaution.

“Both carriageways were closed to traffic while emergency services dealt with the incident and are now both partially open.”
