A busy road in Swanley has closed following a serious crash leaving a car reportedly hanging over a footpath.
Police were called to the A20 in Swanley near Goldsel Road at 6.55am this morning (Wednesday, August 23).
Officers and ambulance crews were at the scene and the London-bound carriageway has been closed throughout the day.
According to AA Maps, the car crashed with a barrier on the bridge section, hanging over the footpath below just after the quarry, close to the McDonald’s.
Traffic is currently being diverted via local routes.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said: "Kent Police was called at 6.55am on 23 August to a collision on the A20 near Goldsel Road, Swanley.
"Officers and ambulance crews are in attendance and the London-bound carriageway is currently closed."
A spokesperson for National Highways tweeted: "The A20 in Kent is closed westbound between the M25/M20 J1 and the B2173 due to a serious collision.
"Kent emergency services are in attendance, including Kent Police.
"Traffic is being diverted via local routes.
"Thank you for your patience."
