A popular Indian-inspired vegan restaurant and catering business in Peckham has been shortlisted to win a national award in the Food Awards England.
En Root offers a plant-based Indian-inspired cuisine with restaurants in Peckham, Brixton and Clapham, and caters for events and markets across London including Greenwich Market and Brixton.
The Peckham restaurant has been nominated to win the Regional Restaurant of the Year in the South East, alongside Peckham-based restaurant Naifs.
This year marks the 8th edition of the Food Awards England, which brings together a selection of restaurants, chef’s eateries, and suppliers from across England to celebrate their passion and dedication to the food industry.
En Root first began in February 2016, opening a food shop in Dulwich before acquiring their flagship restaurant in Clapham in 2019, and later opening their Peckham branch in 2021.
To date the Peckham restaurant has received a 4.6 rating on Google, with eight reviewers praising their mango lassi cheesecake.
The food is made with seasonal vegetables, pulses, and aromatic Gujarati spices to create authentic Indian vegan dishes.
Customers can also choose from a range of their home crafted Raja Bonnet sauces made with one of the world’s spiciest chillies - scotch bonnet.
