A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found dead in a home in Hayes.
Krzysztof Baran was found unresponsive at a multi-occupancy house in Nine Acres Close at 11am on August 12.
The 40-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family has been informed and is being supported by officers.
A post-mortem examination which was carried out yesterday (August 13) gave the cause of death as a stab wound.
An investigation is underway led by detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command.
A 38-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.
He remains in custody at a west London police station.
Detective Chief Inspector Sal Minhas, who is leading the investigation, said: "My thoughts are with the family of the man who has died and we will do all we can to support them as our investigation progresses.
"We have a man in custody and he is being questioned by detectives.
“Based on our initial enquiries, we believe this was an isolated incident and there is nothing to suggest there being any wider risk to the community.
“However, I would urge anyone with concerns to please contact local officers."
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Detectives have arrested a man on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead at a house in west London.
“Police were called at 11am on Saturday, 12 August after a man was found unresponsive at a multi-occupancy house on Nine Acres Close in Hayes.
“Officers attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.
"The 40-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“He has been named as Krzysztof Baran.
“His family has been informed and are being supported by officers.
“A post-mortem examination carried out on Sunday, 13 August gave cause of death as a stab wound.
“An investigation is under way led by detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command.
“A 38-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.
“He remains in custody at a west London police station.”
