An award-winning London chippy has a special offering this afternoon tea week – in the form of an Afternoon Sea.
It's on offer from August 7 to August 13 at The Mayfair Chippy.
Where the traditional afternoon tea is associated with finger sandwiches, scones, pastries and cakes, this up-market chippy has put its own spin on it.
The Mayfair Chippy is a 1AA Rosette, Michelin Guide restaurant in the heart of Mayfair, and will be offering a tower of seafood this Afternoon Tea week.
Guests can feast on fresh seafood including Cornish crab on toast, smoked salmon, pickled cockles, Cornish crab, Atlantic crab claws, King prawns with Maldon rock oysters, and cooked muscles.
The Afternoon Sea can be enjoyed all week long as the chippy is open seven days a week.
It’s priced at £38 per person with a booking for 2 people minimum and must be pre-booked.
The Mayfair Chippy was founded by George Hammer, Jamie Jones and Pete Taylor.
The light, airy interior pays homage to classic chippies of yesteryear: with chequerboard floor, white panelled walls, evocative sea-themed artwork and cosy booths.
