A man has been arrested in Penge on suspicion of failing to appear at court.
Officers arrested a man on Saturday (July 22) at 11.30am in the Penge area.
He was arrested on suspicion of failing to appear at court for an alleged rape that occurred in 2017.
He remains in custody and will appear at the next available court.
A spokesperson for Penge and Cator Police said: “Male has been Arrested for failing to appear at Court for a rape that occurred in 2017.
"He will remain in Custody and will appear at the next available court.
“This male was arrested on Saturday 22nd July 2023 at approximately 1130am.
“This male was arrested in the Penge area.”
