A driver from Sidcup who pulled into oncoming traffic and drove through a red light has been ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.
Kevin Hiscock, 40, was unfit to drive due to drugs and was already disqualified from driving at the time that he carried out the dangerous manoeuvre.
On November 19, 2022, Hiscock was behind the wheel of a SEAT Tarraco on Beckenham Hill Road in Bellingham when he pulled into oncoming traffic, overtook three stationary vehicles and then drove through a red light.
Police who pulled him over found cocaine in his car and he was found to be unfit to drive due to drugs.
He was also not insured to drive the vehicle and had been disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence.
Hiscock, of Highview Road, appeared at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on July 12 after he pleaded guilty to:
- Driving while disqualified
- Possession of cocaine
- Driving while unfit to drive through drugs
- Driving without insurance
- Driving without due care and attention
Hiscock was given a community order which includes 150 hours of unpaid work.
He was also disqualified from driving for one and a half years.
