A teenage girl has been charged with infanticide after a baby boy was found dead in New Eltham.
The 16-year-old is alleged to have caused the death of her child on January 29 last year.
She is alleged to have left him outside in winter conditions without clothing.
Infanticide is legally defined as when a woman, by any wilful act or omission, causes the death of her baby, but at the time the balance of her mind was disturbed by not having fully recovered from the effect of giving birth to the child or by the effect of lactation consequent upon the birth of the child.
The girl is due to appear at a court in south London on Friday (July 14).
