A restaurant in south east London run by a MasterChef finalist has made the Good Food Guide’s top 100 restaurants list for 2023 – here’s why.
The Good Food Guide’s Best Local Restaurant Awards features restaurants from across the UK with eight London restaurants making the list.
Copper and Ink, a Blackheath-based restaurant serving a mix of Scandinavian and French inspired dishes, was one of them.
Copper and Ink was founded in 2018 and is run by former MasterChef 2015 finalist Tony Rodd with partner Becky Cummings.
Its monthly changing menu is created by Tony alongside Head Chef Rob Parks, who was a MasterChef semi-finalist in 2015.
This dog friendly, family focused restaurant situated in Blackheath offers a relaxed dining experience with a modern, botanical inspired décor.
The restaurant scored an overall “good” rating, as well as good ratings for uniqueness, deliciousness and strength of recommendation, and a “very good” rating for warmth.
It for different dietary requirements, with a wide variety of dairy-free and vegan options as well as a children’s menu.
Copper and Ink is widely recommended by locals and diners, with a 4.5 rating on Trip Advisor receiving 179 Excellent reviews.
One reviewer commented on her experience dining there as a vegan on Trip Advisor, describing it as “a real treat for the vegan in me.”
Good Food Guides also gave commendations for its contemporary dishes including its vegan feta, as well as its range of seafood options including salmon and seared scallops.
Diners looking to explore a variety of options can try the tasting menu and an extensive wine list with pairing suggestions, with bottle prices starting from £31.
