A London restaurant has been named the best local restaurant as part of the Good Food Guide 2023.

Les 2 Garçons in Crouch End was named the best for the local category following months of nominations, inspections and deliberations.

The awards were created 13 years ago to "celebrate the places that are the beating heart of communities around Britain".

The website adds: "This year, we received more than 37,000 nominations from diners advocating their beloved local haunts. It turned out to be the strongest field of contenders we’ve ever seen.

"So, alongside our national and regional winners, we are recognising an extended list of venues offering brilliant, creative, personal hospitality in all corners of Britain."

What does the Good Food Guide say about Les 2 Garçons?

When discussing Les 2 Garçons the Good Food Guide said: "Robert and JC are masters of their art’; ‘the best local hosts’: just two of the many hundreds of nominations for this runaway winner of London’s Best Local Restaurant.

"Indeed, these two garçons are veterans of Gallic food and hospitality, and our inspection found their authentic bistro to be as good as the best you’d hope to discover in France.

"Locals rightly appreciate the fact that they have a perfect gem on their doorstep, so it’s no surprise that bagging a table can prove tricky. But once you do, it will feel like ‘being at a dinner party with your best friends,’ according to one fan, who also admits to dreaming of the pear tarte tatin."

Les 2 Garçons also has a good rating on Tripadvisor with a rating of 4.5/5 as one reviewer shared: 

"No better place to enjoy French food in a friendly atmosphere. We had a selection of 3 starters and 3 main course and all were superb , strong recommend the anchovies and the monkfish, for dessert the pear tart was just has delicious."
