The new Sidcup Storyteller cinema has officially opened to the public this week featuring a multi-screen cinema, café and library.
On Tuesday (July 4) the Sidcup Storyteller, a new multi-screen cinema, opened to the public - marking the first cinema to open in the area in 23 years.
The new four-storey building, featuring a cinema accompanied by a library and café, opened on the site formerly occupied by the Blockbuster video shop franchise, which closed in 2013.
The cinema opened in partnership with Bexley Council and independent operator Really Local Group.
Guests will be able to watch a range of titles, including new releases and classic films as well as contemporary titles.
To mark the opening, guests will be able to purchase tickets for £5 up until July 13.
Cllr Baroness O’Neill of Bexley OBE said: “It’s fantastic to see a cinema in Sidcup again after such a long time.
“We have seen how popular the new cinema is after just a few weeks of trading.
“Together with the new library the Sidcup Storyteller building has been a great success.
“By bringing both these things back to the centre of the town we hope to bring the community back to the High Street and welcome new visitors to Sidcup.
“As well as this we have been able to build flats conveniently placed just off the High Street.
“This is a real success story and great news for the borough.”
