A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition after a stabbing in Southwark.

Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Nunhead Green, near to the junction with Gordon Road, at 9.20pm last night (June 25).

Officers attended the scene and it was reported that a man in his 20s had suffered stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital by a member of the public where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

His next of kin have been informed.

There have been no arrests at this stage and investigations are ongoing into the circumstance.

Any witnesses are asked to call police on 101 quoting CAD 7706/25Jun.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called at 21:20hrs on Sunday, 25 June to reports of a stabbing in Nunhead Green, near to the junction with Gordon Road, SE15.

"Officers attended.

"It was reported a man in his 20s had suffered stab wounds.

"He was taken to hospital by a member of the public and remains in a life-threatening condition.

"His next of kin have been informed. 

"An investigation is under way and enquiries are ongoing.

"There have been no arrests.
