A Sandhurst Road resident has expressed concern after capturing a video which appears to show a number 124 bus driving through a red traffic light.
A video shared on twitter by Catford campaign group Safer Sandhurst and Sangle appears to show a number 124 bus passing a red light in Sandhurst Road.
An overtake worthy of Formula One from this bold @tfl bus driver on Sandhurst Road, Catford. Don’t worry about the red light. pic.twitter.com/4zS4uYA5ne

The video, which twitter user @CatfordParking claimed to be at around 9am on Tuesday (June 20), appeared to show the 124 bus on Sandhurst Road driving through a red light at a set of temporary traffic lights, while other cars were shown running idle.
TFL has said this matter is being investigated along with the operator Stagecoach in resposne to the video.
However, according to Sandhurst Road residents, the road is already experiencing issues with pedestrians being forced off the pavement due to cars “illegally parking” on the pavement.
Previously residents of Sandhurst Road and others nearby wrote to the Mayor of Lewisham, Damian Egan, outlining their concerns about the road.
The letter, published on the Safer Sandhurst and Sangley blog, said that cars “routinely” park outside the marked parking bays, causing issues for pedestrians.
A line from the letter said: “Cars routinely park well outside the marked parking bays on the pavement side and leave precious little room left for pedestrians.”
Cllr Louise Krupski, cabinet member for environment and climate action at Lewisham Council, said: “Cars parked on the pavement illegally make it harder for pedestrians to move safely around the borough, particularly for wheelchair users or people with buggies.
“We are stepping up our enforcement of illegal pavement parking across Lewisham and I would urge drivers to ensure they are not blocking the pavement illegally when parking their vehicles.”
We have contacted TFL for comment and are awaiting on a response.
Tom Cunnington, Head of Buses Business Development at TfL said: “All our bus drivers receive extensive training and are expected to demonstrate the highest professional standards.
'This footage is concerning and we are working with the operator Stagecoach, who is carrying out a full investigation into what happened.”
