CHILDREN have been given a graphic lesson in the dangers of car crime.
Around 250 pupils from Haberdashers' Aske's Knights Academy, Launcelot Road, Grove Park, and Sedgehill School, Sedgehill Road, Catford, were shown the reconstruction of a four-vehicle road accident on June 17.
It was organised by crew members from Downham fire station to show youngsters the consequences of stealing or setting light to cars and how injured people are rescued.
London Ambulance staff, PCSOs and police officers also joined in the reconstruction.
Fake blood was used by first aid charity Casualties Union to show injuries the crash would cause.
Downham fire crew manager Nigel Patton said: "It made them realise driving too fast is dangerous."
