A child who was going to school has allegedly been approached by a man inside a van in Eltham.
The incident is reported to have happened in Purneys Road at around 9.20am today (June 15).
An adult who was looking after the child reported the incident to the school who then contacted police.
The child is safe and well.
Police enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances.
The News Shopper understands the incident involved a pupil at Ealdham Primary School in Ealdham Square.
A spokesperson for Greenwich Council said the school can not comment on the incident as it’s a police matter.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 09:20hrs on Thursday, 15 June after concerns were raised about an incident where a man in a van reportedly spoke to a child who was on route to school in Purneys Road, SE9.
“An adult who was looking after the child reported the incident to school who subsequently contacted police.
“The child is safe and well.
“Enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances of the incident.”
