A Bull Snake has been found seeking shade outside the Little Crown Pub on New Cross Road in Deptford.
The Bull Snake, is a species native to North America and is known its light tan colour and dark spots.
The species can reach up to eight foot in length although it is non-venomous and is not known for being aggressive despite its bulk.
The snake was found seeking shade from the 26 degree heat as the UK continues to battle through a heatwave expected to carry on into next week.
Met Police are advising anyone who is missing the snake to get in touch with snake handlers to support.
