A 75-year-old bus driver has pleaded not guilty to a charge of causing death by dangerous driving following a crash which killed an 83-year-old woman.
Pensioner Edna McLean died on September 13, 2021, two days after she was involved in a collision with a Transport for London bus driven by Ozdemir Zia.
The crash took place at around 10.30am on Vincent Road near Woolwich Arsenal station.
Ozdemir Zia, of Weyman Road in Kidbrooke, appeared at the Old Bailey on Tuesday (June 13, 2023) charged with causing Edna McLean's death by driving without due care or attention.
Zia, represented by barrister Yogain Chandarana, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
A trial date was set for March 2024. The trial is expected to last eight days.
