With the weather finally starting to improve, people across south east London will be looking to soak it up as much as possible.
And, what better way to spend a warm summer evening than watching movies under the stars?!
We have put together a list of outdoor cinemas heading to south east London this summer.
Bussey Building – Peckham
Already home to a roof top bar, the cinema, aptly named “Roof Top Film Club,” is set in fun and comfortable surroundings.
As well as serving classic popcorn, the venue also hosts street food vendors giving you plenty of options for dinner.
The cinema supplies wireless headphones to ensure nothing is missed, and there are padded deck chairs for extra comfort.
The film choices range from classics such as Superbad and The Notebook, to family favourites such as Puss in Boots and Minions.
The cinema is open now, and tickets can be booked on Roof Top Film Club’s website.
Beckenham Palace Park – Sunset Screening
If your preference is less mainstream films, then Sunset Screening, in Beckenham Palace Park, caters for just that.
Set on the patio of Homestead Café, classic films will be projected onto a huge screen surrounded by the largest green space in the borough.
The films on offer are mainly old classics such as, Alfred Hitchcock’s 1938 mystery The Lady Vanishes and Mike Newell’s 1994 romantic comedy Four Weddings and a Funeral.
Screenings will run every Friday and Saturday night from June 30 to July 29.
Tickets are available on the Sunset Screenings website.
Beckenham Palace Park – Popup Screens
Later in the summer, Popup Screens will take over the park’s outdoor movie scene, showcasing mainstream favourites.
There will be a bar serving alcohol and snacks, but organisers say they are happy for visitors to bring their own picnic.
It is important to note that seating will not be provided, so it is advised that visitors bring their own chairs and blankets.
The films being shown are, Pretty Woman, Top Gun: Maverick, and The Greatest Showman.
The cinema will be in the park from August 4 to August 6.
Tickets are available on Popup Screens website.
Bexley – Hall Place
Popup Screens will also be visiting Bexley, at the historic house and gardens, Hall Place.
There will be a bar serving alcohol and snacks, but organisers say they are happy for visitors to bring their own picnic.
