Shocking footage has emerged showing huge black smoke ripping through the sky in Sydenham.
Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters are currently tackling a fire at a scrapyard in Burnham Way.
Seven tonnes of scrap metal are currently alight at the scrapyard.
Residents are being advised by fire crews to keep windows and doors closed due to heavy smoke.

Footage taken by a by passer from the scene shows fire billowing into the air.
It also shows a crowd of stunned onlookers watching the flames burst into the sky.
Fire crews from Forest Hill, Beckenham, Lewisham, Bromley, Lee Green and surrounding stations are in attendance.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters have been called to a fire at a scrapyard on Burnham Way in Lower Sydenham.
“Around seven tonnes of scrap metal is alight at the scrapyard.
“It is an extremely visible fire and the Brigade's 999 Control room has taken 27 calls alerting them to the fire.
“Local residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed due to heavy smoke.
“The Brigade was called at 1501 and is still on scene. Fire crews from Forest Hill, Beckenham, Lewisham, Bromley, Lee Green and surrounding stations are in attendance.
“The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.”
