A man was shocked to find a snake in his kitchen - hiding under the washing machine and hissing at him.
Oliver Angove was left stunned when the reptile managed to get into his home after escaping from his neighbour's property.
The American corn snake called Cecilia, was being kept as a pet when it slithered through the pipework of the south London house.
It appeared from under his washing machine after it managed to escape from a house two doors down by slipping through the pipework and floorboards.
Mr Angove couldn't believe his eyes when the snake’s head popped out from behind the appliance at this home in Balham.
He managed to catch the snake and was able to return Cecilia back to her relieved owner.
The stunned resident said: “It was definitely not something I expected to see.”
