A man has been taken to hospital after a crash with a lorry in Catford.

Police, ambulance and fire crews and London's Air Ambulance went to the scene of the crash in Catford Road just before 12.15pm today.

A man, aged in his 60s, was found injured and taken to hospital in south London by ambulance.

His injuries aren't life threatening.

The lorry driver stopped at the scene.

He was not arrested and is assisting police with enquiries.

Police cordons and road closures were put in place but have since been lifted.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 12:14hrs on Thursday, 18 May to reports of a pedestrian in collision with a lorry at Catford Road.

"Officers, London Ambulance Service [LAS], London’s Air Ambulance [HEMS] and London Fire Brigade [LFB] attended.

"At the scene a man, aged 60s, was found injured he was taken by LAS to a south London hospital.

"His injuries were assessed as not life threatening.

"The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene. He was not arrested but is assisting police with their enquiries.

"Cordons and closures were established. They have since been lifted.

"Anyone who witnessed this incident or has dashcam footage should call police on 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting 3231/18MAY."

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 12.14pm today (18 May) to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction between the A205 and Ravensbourne Park, SE6.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a medic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and a clinical team manager. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated a patient at the scene before taking them to a major trauma centre.”
