A motorcyclist in his 40s has died following a “hit and run” crash in Lambeth.
On Thursday (May 11) at 8:15pm police were called to the scene of a crash between a car and a motorbike in Leigham Court Road in Lambeth.
Police officers attended the scene with London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.
A motorcyclist, aged in his 40s, sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
An abandoned blue BMW was found at the scene, it is believed by police that three occupants left the scene on foot.
The motorcyclist’s next of kin have been informed.
No arrests have been made and enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

Detective Sergeant Nick Bale of the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “A blue BMW was abandoned at the scene of the collision and we believe that three occupants of that vehicle fled the scene on foot.
“I urge anyone who has information concerning the identity of those involved to get in touch.
“Similarly, if you were in the car, please make yourself known to us.
“This collision resulted in a man’s death and a family is now struggling to come to terms with their loss.
“Our thoughts are with them.”
The full statement from Metropolitan Police reads: “Detectives are appealing for information and dash-cam footage after a motorcyclist was killed in a collision in Lambeth.
“Police were called at 20:15hrs on Thursday, 11 May to reports of a car and a motorcycle colliding in Leigham Court Road, SW16.
“Officers attended with London Ambulance Service [LAS] and London's Air Ambulance [HEMS].
“At the scene a male motorcyclist, aged in his 40s, had been involved in a collision and had sustained serious injuries.
“He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers know his identity and have informed his next of kin.
“At this early stage there have been no arrests.
"Enquiries into the circumstances continue.
