A woman and an 18-month-old baby have been taken to hospital after a hit-and-run in Eltham.

The incident between a motorcycle and two pedestrians happened in Eltham Hill just after 3pm today (May 11).

Officers attended and found a woman, aged 29, and a baby in a buggy injured.

They were both taken to a south London hospital for treatment.

Their conditions were later assessed as not life threatening.

The rider of a motorcycle failed to stop at the scene, and enquiries remain ongoing to locate them.

Road closures were put in place but have since been lifted.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called shortly after 15:00hrs on Thursday, 11 May to reports of a motorbike in collision with two pedestrians on Eltham Hill, SE9.

“Officers attended and found a 29-year-old woman and an 18-month-old child – who was in a buggy – injured.

“They were both taken to a south hospital by the London Ambulance Service; their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“The rider failed to stop at the scene, and enquiries remain ongoing to locate them.

“Road closures are in place.

“Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference CAD 4687/11May.”
