The Ivy Asia is one of those up-market restaurants that makes you feel good, and when there’s an epic dessert platter involved, even more-so.

The Ivy Asia’s is welcoming in the spring season with an unmissable Blossom Nights events series and limited-edition specials.

Until May 12, diners can immerse themselves in the spirit of Japan with bespoke dishes including a cherry blossom-themed dessert platter and cocktails.

News Shopper:

The Ivy Asia is one of my favourite restaurants for a special occasion, and my friend and I loved the sound of the dessert platter and so wanted to treat ourselves.

We went to the Mayfair restaurant which has the most stunning interior, with the classic Ivy Asia-style green floors, embellished with pink floral décor hanging from the ceiling.

Our Cherry Blossom themed drinks were suitably pink, and came with candy floss, and we couldn’t resist but order two each of these throughout the evening.

News Shopper:

To start with my friend ordered the popcorn shrimp, while I had the salmon three ways which comes with salmon nigiri, tartare and maki.

It was fresh, and the differing salmon flavours all tied in together nicely.

News Shopper:

We both ordered the miso black cod for mains and shared broccoli with a sesame dressing and steamed rice.

The miso cod is one of my favourite Ivy dishes – it’s suitably filling, divinely tasty and melts in the mouth.

As lovely as our starters and main courses were, and I’d recommend it all again and again, it was the dessert we’d come for, and we knew we were in for an absolute treat.

News Shopper:

We ordered the limited-edition dessert to indulge, and WOW.

The Cherry Blossom Dessert Platter comes in at a price of £32.50, and probably could have fed the masses rather than just two of us – but we weren’t complaining.

It was a spring twist on the infamous Ivy Asia dessert platter – and comes with passionfruit donuts, white chocolate and yuzu cheesecake, a chocolate mousse affair, and mini samurai – all paired with a beautiful cherry blossom tree.

News Shopper:

The dessert was a proper show-stopper, Instagram-worthy, aesthetic and tasty, and was the perfect treat for that special night out.

Get it while it lasts, you won’t regret it.
