I went for a day out and to get my mum some Mother’s Day presents at The O2, and I didn’t realise one place could be so much fun and so productive.
I really fancied a trip out, and I needed some pressies, so I decided to head to The O2 in Greenwich as I’d heard great things about The Icon shopping outlet there.
I decided to make a day of it with my boyfriend, so we went for lunch first at one of The O2’s newest restaurants – Trapdoor.
It was a cool mixture of a pub, restaurant and a bar, and had a really colourful and fun interior with TVs showing sport – much to my boyfriend’s delight.
@immyshare A day out at the O2 Arena in Greenwich. Food, outlet shopping for Mother’s Day and bowling. What could be better?! #o2arena #greenwich #shopping #outletshopping #londonoutletdesigners #londonoutlet #prinvite #bowling #football @Zach Harris ♬ Sunroof - Nicky Youre & dazy
We had some tater tots and tuna tacos to start with, and then each chose a poached egg dish.

I had mine with spinach, and they came on a waffle rather than bread which was a really nice touch.
Especially for the sweet toothed among us, like me.
We shared a brownie for dessert, which was scrumptious, and although we probably didn’t need a dessert after all that it would have been rude not to have had one.
I can’t help but think my boyfriend just wanted to stay and watch the sport on the big TVs for longer, but anyway… After we’d eaten it was time to shop, and wow.
So many outlet shops with discounts in one place.
I’m a sucker for a discount, and when wanting to get my mum some really nice and special bits for Mother’s Day, an outlet was a must.
My mum is a runner, so I got her some New Balance trainers which were £30 – reduced from £80.
I mean, what a discount?!?!
There was another store which was filled with discounted beauty and makeup products, so I picked her up some bits in there – which I know she will LOVE and which didn’t cost me a fortune.
I got her some lovely (discounted) earrings, some facial soap from The Body Shop, and of course some chocolates from Lindt.
Who can go near a Lindt shop without being tempted by the smell?!
I really did shop until I dropped but I couldn’t leave The O2 without doing one of the many activities on offer, so I chose some bowling.
It’s quick, fun, easy, and I really wanted to beat my boyfriend.
We headed to Hollywood Bowl and played – it was great fun, I didn’t win, but it’s the taking part that counts right?!
I’ve been to The O2 before for concerts, and to climb it, but I didn’t actually realise how much opportunity there was there for a fun day out with food, shopping, and activities.
Go, go, go!
