London South East College has issued a statement after a large officer presence was seen at Bromley College. 

Residents on social media reported seeing officers and dogs searching the college in Rookery Lane at around 11am. 

The college confirmed that it has been working in partnership with the Metropolitan Police, who were carrying out a routine search and screening operation at the Bromley Campus.

It added that it is “pleased” to play its part in supporting the Mayor of London’s commitment to safer streets.

The college is “committed” to ensure students and the community can live safely in Bromley and will continue to work the police to achieve this.

We have contacted Metropolitan Police for further information.
