A man has been found in the engine compartment of a coach in Lee that had arrived in the UK from France.
Police were called to the scene in Eltham Road close to the junction of Courtland Avenue in Lee Green just before 6.50am.
Ambulance and fire crews also attended.
The man was detained before being taken to hospital as a precaution.
Police say enquiries to establish the circumstances are ongoing.
A spokesperson for Met Police said: “Police were called at 06:48hrs on Friday, 24 February, after a man was found in the engine compartment of a coach in Eltham Road, close to the junction with Courtland Avenue, SE12.

“The coach had arrived in the UK from France.
“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade. The man was detained and taken to hospital as a precaution.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances”.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 6.55am today (24 February) to reports of an incident on the junction between Courtland Avenue and Eltham Road, SE12.
“We sent an ambulance crew and an incident response officer to the scene.
“We treated a man at the scene before taking them to hospital”.
