A person has died and three people have been taken to hospital after a crash in Woolwich.

The incident between a motorcycle and a group of pedestrians happened in Plumstead Road at 7.30pm today (February 19).

Officers, London Ambulance Service, and an air ambulance were called to the scene.

The rider of a motorcycle and three pedestrians were found injured.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, a male pedestrian died at the scene.

The three people have been taken to hospital for treatment.

Their conditions are currently unknown.

Road closures are in place near the junction with Lenton Street.

Police enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 19:30hrs on Sunday, 19 February to reports of a motorcycle in collision with a group of pedestrians in Plumstead Road, near the junction with Lenton Street, SE18.

“Officers, London Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance all attended the scene.

“Four people – a motorcycle rider and three pedestrians - were involved.

"Despite the best efforts of the emergency services one of the pedestrians – a male (no further details) died at the scene.

“The other three people have been taken to hospital for treatment; condition awaits.

“A large amount of road closures remain in place and enquiries into the circumstances continue.
