Some Southeastern journeys were delayed or cancelled after horses were reported to have walked onto the tracks between Slade Green and Dartford this morning.
At 11:27am Southeastern shared a tweet advising customers that trains between Dartford and Slade Green were unable to run due to horses on the line.
The tweet said: “NEW: Horses are on the line between #Slade Green and Dartford.
“Trains are unable to run between these stations and are being delayed.
“Services may be diverted or cancelled. “Network Rail are on route”.

As a result, trains were unable to run between these stations leading to travel delays and cancellations.
Trains between Dartford and Slade Green and Dartford and Barnehurst were unable to run between these stations. Network Rail attended the scene and worked to remove the horses safely from the line.
A spokesperson for Network Rail said: “The line was closed at around 11:58am and teams worked to locate the owners of the horses”.
At 12:16pm Southeasern shared a tweet advising customers that all lines had reopened following the incident.

🟢 All lines have now reopened, trains in the Metro Area may still be delayed or cancelled while we work to resume a normal service.

However, Southeastern also advised that some trains in the Metro Area may still be cancelled or delayed whilst they work to resume a normal service.
A spokesperson for Southeastern said: “All lines have now reopened, and Network Rail team members were able to lead the horses back to safety”.
