A teenage girl has died after falling from a height in Woolwich.
It happened in Wellington Street just before 6.45pm on February 2.
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a girl “seriously” injured.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her next of kin have been informed.
The death is being treated as unexpected, though initial indications suggest it is not suspicious.
Officers remain at the scene to conduct further enquiries.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police responded to a call from the LAS at 18:43hrs on 2 February to a person fallen from height in Wellington Street, Woolwich SE18.
“A teenage girl was found seriously injured. Despite the efforts of paramedics she was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Her next of kin are aware.
“The death is being treated as unexpected, though initial indications suggest it is not suspicious.
“Officers remain at the scene to conduct further enquiries.”
