AT THE last meeting members were asked to consider and vote on two resolutions: a ban on bottom sea trawling and the inappropriate imprisonment of the severely mentally ill.
A final vote as to whether representations should be made to the Government on these resolutions will be taken at the WI's annual meeting in June.
Successful outings have been undertaken in recent weeks. Firstly to central London where members were given a very informative guided tour of the state rooms of Marlborough House.
Once a royal residence, it is now the headquarters of the Secretary of the Commonwealth in this country.
A further visit took members behind the scenes of a local garden centre.
Members were given a demonstration of the mechanical "potting up" of small cuttings and learnt about the care and cultivation of plants within the nursery.
They also enjoyed a performance of Hello Dolly at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley.
Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 2pm in Farnborough Village Hall. For further information, call 01689 820541.
