The driver of a car has been taken to hospital after a crash in Crayford.

It happened in Stadium Way at the junction with Watling Street at 9.10pm yesterday (January 20).

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews were called to the scene.

The driver, a woman in her 50s, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

She was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Police enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 9.10pm on Friday, 20 January to reports of a road traffic collision involving one car in Stadium Way, junction with Watling Street, Crayford.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene.

“The driver, a woman in her 50s, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

"She went to hospital as a precaution.

“She has been bailed and enquiries into the circumstances continue."
