Lewisham Warm Welcomes is a network of community groups joining together to offer warm spaces around Lewisham borough.
The warm banks are available to people “free of charge” with some providing additional services including hot drinks, food, activities and additional advice and support.
Those taking part in the initiative including Lewisham Libraries, churches, Lewisham Council and several other organisations.
Here’s a list of all the available warm banks in Lewisham:
Blackheath
Currently the only listing in Blackheath is the Age Exchange which offers a warm bank, open on weekdays.
Brockley
Brockley currently have five listed warm banks.
Crofton Park Community Library, Honor Oak Community Centre, Crofton Park Baptist Church and St Peter’s Church Brockley offer services like warm drinks, free meals, activities and further support.
Catford
Catford currently have 10 listed warm banks.
Salvation Army Catford, Lewisham Unity, Lewisham Irish Centre, Goldsmiths Community Centre, The Fellowship Inn, Christ Church Bellingham and Brownhill Road Baptist Church all offer additional services including warm drinks, food, activities and further support.
Deptford
Deptford currently have four listed warm banks.
The 2000 Community Action Centre and Deptford Reach offer additional support including warm drinks and food.
Downham
Downham currently have four listed warm banks.
The Green Man offers signposting support to other services and St Luke’s Church offers warm drinks to visitors.
Forest Hill
Forest Hill currently have four listed warm banks.
Horniman Museum offers activities and Forest Hill Pools and Ewart Hall offer warm drinks to visitors on specific weekdays.
Lee
Lee currently have four listed warm banks.
St Mildred’s Church, Rastafari Movement and Lee Green Lives offer warm drinks on selected days to visitors and Grove Park library offers signposting services to visitors.
Lewisham
Lewisham currently have four listed warm banks.
Glass Mill Leisure Centre offers warm drinks on Wednesdays-Fridays and Lewisham Local offers warm drinks, activities and signposting services on selected weekdays.
New Cross
New Cross currently have four listed warm banks.
Each listing including Goldsmiths University, House of Bread, New Cross Learning Telegraph Hill Centre, Telegraph Hill Playclub and The Field all offer warm drinks and some offer additional services including meals, activities and signposting.
Sydenham
Sydenham currently have six listed warm banks.
Sydenham Centre, Sydenham Library, Sydenham Arts, Ignition Brewery, Grove Centre Church and Forest Hill Community Church all offer warm drinks with some offering free meals and activities.
