Around 30 people have been evacuated due to a gas leak at a fire station in Eltham.
People were evacuated by fire crews from neighbouring properties near Eltham High Street just before 10.10am today (January 11).
A 25-meter cordon is currently in place as the incident is being dealt with.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police confirmed the gas leak happened in Eltham Fire Station.
Eltham High Street remains closed in both directions.
This is due to the incident between Footscray Road and Pound Place, according to AA maps.
There are 11 London bus routes on diversion as a result. These are the 124, 126, 132, 160, 162, 233, 286, 314, 321, B15 and B16.
Firefighters from Sidcup and East Greenwich fire stations are at the scene.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters have been called to a gas leak on Eltham High Street.
“Around 30 people have been evacuated from the building and neighbouring properties.
“There are road closures on Eltham High Street and a 25 metre cordon is in place as a precaution.
“The Brigade was called at 1007. Crews from Sidcup and East Greenwich fire stations are at the scene.”
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Gas leak at Eltham Fire Station, police assisting with road closures.”
