A commuter's travel mishap has gone viral after women boarded the River Thames ferry mistaking it for a bridge. 

TikTok user Sophie Montague posted the now viral video after she was convinced she was driving on the bridge, only to discover it was a ferry. 

Confused why so many cars were stationary around her, Montague quickly released she had boarded the ferry to Woolwich. 

Luckily, Montague didn't have to pay for the five-minute service with the free ferry providing transport for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles.

Sharing her experience, Montague said that "she can't cope with myself" before sharing that she "tried to cross the River Thames on what I thought was a road and have actually ended up on a ferry."

Discussing her confusion with the situation, Montague said: "I'm just trying to commute to work. I thought it was a road and I'm on a freaking ferry."

Showing the rows of cars around her and the white ferry exterior, Montague questions how to thought it was a road. 

Adding: "I just, I can't even...how? Anyway, I'm going to go and enjoy my boat."

The video quickly went viral after reaching 1.5 million views as people took to the comments to share their own experiences. 

One user wrote: "If this is the Woolwich ferry, I did the exact same thing and I cried because I thought we were going to end up in France."

Montague followed up with her adventure, saying: "It actually feels like I'm drunk because everything is spinning."

The radio presenter later posted an update to her followers sharing that she just "drove on to the ferry."

Later adding that the whole experience resulted in a "very very "traumatic commute to work."
