A man has been detained and taken to hospital after an incident in Bexleyheath.
Officers were called to reports of a person acting suspiciously in Talehangers Close at 9.30am today (January 10).
London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also attended and found a man experiencing a mental health crisis.
Police say he then ran off towards the Cricket Club on Park View Road in Welling.

A taser was deployed as the man reportedly began to self-harm in order to prevent further injury.
He was then detained under common law and taken to hospital.
His injuries are believed to be not life-threatening.
Police are currently working to inform his next of kin.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Officers were called at 09:28hrs on Tuesday, 10 January to Talehangers Close, Bexleyheath.
“It was reported that persons were acting suspiciously at the location.
“On arrival police found a man apparently having a mental health crisis.
“The man ran off to towards the Cricket Club on Park View Road.
“The man then began to self-harm and a taser was deployed in order to prevent further injury, he was then detained under common law.
“London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene.
“The man has been taken to hospital, his injuries are not thought life-threatening.
“Officers are working to inform his next of kin.”
