An investigation into a double shooting in south east London is ongoing after 29 days, say police.

Officers attended two firearms incidents five miles apart from each other on December 12.

Police were called to reports of an altercation involving a group of men in Brockley just before 9.50pm.

One of the men was reportedly firing a gun into the air in Brockley Rise.

On arrival, police discovered that the suspects left the scene but found numerous shells on the floor. 

No injuries were reported.

On the same night just before 11.15pm, police were called to Blackheath after shots were fired through a window.

A teenage boy was found injured by the shards of glass from the window in Dursley Road.

He was taken to hospital where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said today (January 10) that officers are working to establish whether the two incidents are linked.

No other injuries were reported. 

No arrests have been made in connection to both of the incidents.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police responded to two reports of two firearms discharges in south east London.

“Officers were called at 21:52hrs on Monday, 12 December to Brockley Rise SE23 reports of an altercation involving a group of males, one of whom was firing a gun into the air.

“Police responded and conducted an area search but the suspects had left. There were no reports of any injuries.

“Several shell casings were recovered.

“At 23:14hrs the same night, officers were called to Dursley Road SE3 to reports of a firearms discharge.

“A teenage boy was injured by glass after shots were fired through a window.

“He was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service for minor injuries, there were no other reported injuries.

“There have been no arrests.

“Police are working to establish whether the two incidents are linked and enquiries remain ongoing.

“Anyone who has information that could help police should call 101 ref CAD 6627 or 7068 of 12 December.”
