A 25-year-old man has been taken to hospital after a serious assault which forced Woolwich Station to close for police.
Officers were called to Woolwich Station at 3.11pm yesterday (January 8).
Paramedics attended and a 25-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.
His injuries are not life threatening or life changing.
He has since been discharged and is at home recovering.
There has been no arrests at this point an enquiries are ongoing.
Woolwich Station was closed yesterday (January 8) whist police carried out the investigation.
Witnesses are urged to contact the British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 262 of January 8.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Woolwich station at 3.11pm today (8 January) to reports of a serious assault.
“Paramedics also attended, and a 25-year-old man was taken to a local hospital for treatment to injuries that were not deemed life-threatening or life-changing.
“He has since been discharged and is at home recovering.
“No arrests have been made at this time and enquiries are ongoing. Witnesses, or anyone with information, are urged to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 262 of 8 January.’
