Three men have been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Dulwich left an 18-year-old fighting for his life.

Police were called at 11.40pm on January 1 to reports of a stabbing in the area of Seeley Drive.

Officers attended along with paramedics and an 18-year-old male was taken to hospital with stab wounds.

He currently remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Tashan Baily Thompson, 22, of Meadowview Road, Bellingham; Denzel Ealmeida, 21, of Elam Close, SE5; and Darren Sotemi, 24, of no fixed address, are due to appear in Croydon Magistrates Court today (January 5).

A total of 12 people were arrested in connection with the attack but nine have since been bailed pending further inquiries.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Three men are due to appear in court charged with attempted murder after a teenager was seriously injured in a stabbing in Southwark.

“[A] Tashan Baily Thompson, 22 (21.10.00), of Meadowview Road, Bellingham; [B] Denzel Ealmeida, 21 (09.10.01), of Elam Close, SE5; and, [C] Darren Sotemi, 24 (24.04.98), of no fixed address, were charged on Wednesday, 4 January.

“They will appear at Croydon Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 5 January.

“Police were called at around 11.30pm on Sunday, 1 January, to a male stabbed in the area of Seeley Drive, SE21.

“Officers attended along with ambulance colleagues.

“An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital suffering stab injuries.

“He remains in a critical condition. The man’s family have been informed.

“A total of 12 people have been arrested in connection with the investigation. Nine have been bailed pending further enquiries.”
