A man is fighting for his life in hospital after a shooting in Southwark yesterday (December 28).
Police on patrol found a seriously injured 20-year-old man on Church Street in Camberwell, close to the junction with Grove Lane. A crime scene is now in place at this location.
He was treated at the scene by London Air Ambulance paramedics before being rushed to hospital suffering gunshot wounds and serious head injuries.
He currently remains in a critical condition and his family have been informed of the incident.
A second crime scene which covers part of a children’s playground, near Leontine Close in Peckham, is also in place.
There were reports of shots being heard in the area a short time before the injured man was found.
Police believe the two incidents to be linked and are currently working to establish the circumstances.
No arrests have been made at this stage and nobody else has been reported as injured.
