There is no denying that us south Londoners love a night out at our local Wetherspoons pub.
In 2022, we saw many Wetherspoons across south London permanently close their doors.
At the start of the year, just in Croydon alone, two Wetherspoons closed for good with another announcing its closure.
It was announced that the Foxley Hatch in Purley has been put up for sale in September.
The Milan Bar in Croydon closed in February and the Skylark shut one month later in March.
Wetherspoons also confirmed that the Edmund Halley pub, in Lewisham, will also shut for good on December 30.
In September, the popular chain revealed that four other pubs across south London were up for sale.
A commercial decision was made to sell the pubs which will continue to operate as Wetherspoons outlets until they are sold.
The Wrong Un in Bexleyheath, Bankers Draft in Eltham, the Asparagus in Battersea and the Capitol in Forest Hill are currently looking for new owners.
It is unknown when these pubs will permanently close their doors.
So, for the last time lets hold our glasses high as we toast to the Wetherspoons pubs we lost in 2022.
